MENTORSHIP

CAN-TECH Law's mentoring program runs from early 2024 to late December 2024. There is no fee to participate.

Mentees are practicing lawyers or trainees who have between 0 and 5 years of work experience in the legal field and who are either seeking direction in their career or in career transition.

Mentors typically have more than 5 years of work experience in a practice related to technology law.
All participants must remain active CAN-TECH Law members throughout the year to participate.

We expect mentors and mentees to commit to one meeting per month, which can be accomplished by phone, video conferencing platform (not provided by CAN-TECH), or any other method agreed to by the pair.

About Mentorship
The overall goal of the CAN-TECH Law Mentorship Program is to create a space for meaningful connections between senior lawyers and more junior lawyers.

Mentoring is a shared learning experience that benefits not only the mentee, but the mentor as well. For the mentor, the experience broadens leadership and coaching skills and is a way to help develop future leaders for the profession of technology law. For the mentee, the partnership is a learning experience that offers the opportunity to gain practical knowledge, wisdom and valuable career prospects. CAN-TECH Law's mentoring program has been designed to include a structured matchmaking program between mentors and mentees, a group meeting, and then a series of one-on-one meetings that the mentoring partners will hold with each other.

APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED for 2024.
