On August 28, 2026, the Office of Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) announced that it had filed a court application under s. 15 of the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (“PIPEDA”) naming Google LLC as the respondent, following the office’s finding that Canada’s privacy law includes a right to have certain search results de-listed.
